Chad Pregracke
The Alumni Association (HCCAA) will yearly recognize someone who through their accomplishments, both personally and professionally, personifies the values of the College which include a "can do" attitude, a respect for diversity, and ethical decision-making among others.
It's a first for Heartland Community College. The College gave its first-ever Distinguished Alumni Award to Chad Pregracke of East Moline, Illinois. Chad is a former Heartland student ('97) whose career successes reflect the values of the College and the community at large.
Pregracke turned his one-man operation to clean up rivers into a nationally recognized, half-million dollar organization, devoted to educating people about their connection to the environment.
During a videotaped message to the Class of 2009 graduates, Pregracke had a simple message. "Don't follow your dreams, lead them."
